Minimum specifications of this material are: <br /> ■ GCL Model: Bentofix Thermal Lock NWL <br /> ■ Bentonite content: 0.84 Ib/ft2 at 12% moisture <br /> • Grab Strength: 150 Ib minimum average roll value <br /> • Permeability: 5x10"9 cm/sec maximum <br /> ■ Peel strength: 45 Ib minimum <br /> If multiple pieces of GCL are used, the pieces will be overlapped a minimum of 12 <br /> inches and granular bentonite will be sprinkled in the overlap to prevent moisture <br /> intrusion. <br /> After the GCL is in place, the vegetative layer will be placed directly over the damaged <br /> area. (Photos 4). The vegetative layer will be compacted with tractor treads to reduce <br /> the potential for future erosion (Photo 5). <br /> The resulting vegetative layer surface will be seeded and fertilized, and anti-erosion <br /> control mats placed if needed to protect the repaired area whale vegetation is established <br /> (Photo 6).
