Cove Contractors Inspection -2- 13 April 1992
Grab samples (Samples CC1 and CC2) were obtained from two ponds directly on exposed ASW
shown on the attached location map. Water samples were obtained with a triple rinsed teflon dipp
Field parameters including pH and specific conductance were measured using a calibrated Myr
r
a I
01
L TM meter. Samples were retained in a blue -ice cooled ice chest during transfer to the Regional Boar
I
laboratory refrigerator. Water samples were analyzed for total ICP constituents (EPA Method 200.
total AA constituents (arsenic, mercury, and selenium), and purgeable halocarbon/ aromatic organ
chemicals (EPA Methods 601 and 602). Laboratory analytical reports, quality assuran
documentation and chain -of -custody reports are attached.
Sample analysis results of pond water indicate no detectable purgeable halocarbon or aromatimi
organic chemicals. Specific Conductance was measured at 2600 gmhos/cm (CC1) and 230tf-,'
p.mhos/cm (CC2), both of which indicating substantially higher than background total dissolved
solids as indicated in the SWAT report. Values of pH were measured at 8.0 (CC1) and 7.3 (CC2).
Applicable beneficial uses of receiving waters include Municipal/ Domestic Supply and Agricultur
Supply (surface waters and ground water) and Freshwater Aquatic Habitat (surface waters).
following constituents detected in surface water samples CC1 and CC2 exceed water quality gol
(staff report (Jon B.
