Box 2009 0 (1601 East Hazelton Avenue) 0 Stockton, California 95201 <br />(209) 468-3400 <br />California Clay Landfill February 22, 1994 <br />Cove Contractors Inc. <br />2711 Navy Drive <br />Stockton, CA 95206 CC- <br />Attn: Mr. Jack Hecht <br />Re: Cove Contractors / California Clay Landfill Planned Closure <br />San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division received your letter dated November 1, <br />1993 indicating Cove Contractor's decision to consider immediate closure of California Clay <br />Landfill (Cove Landfill). Cove Landfill is a "Disposal site" as defined in Public Resources Code <br />Section 40122. Therefore, a closure plan will be necessary which meets the requirements of <br />Title 14, Division 7, California Code of Regulations (CCR), Chapter 3, Article 7.8. Our intention <br />is to work with you as the lead agency for this project under the authority of the CCR. <br />Cove Landfill is not subject to the closure & postclosure maintenance and financial assurances <br />requirements of 14 CCR, Chapter 5, Articles 3.4 and 3.5 in accordance with 14 CCR, 18250. <br />CEQA may be required. Contact the City of Stockton, Division of Community Development <br />for CEGA requirements. <br />Please submit a Closure Plan and Postclosure Plan to San Joaquin County Public Health <br />Services, Environmental Health Division (EHD) by May 22, 1994. Plan review fee is <br />$156.00/2hrs (time spent in review beyond two hours will be billed at $78.00/hr). <br />If you have any questions, please contact Carol Oz, Senior Registered Environmental Health <br />Specialist of my staff at (209) 468-3440. <br />Ernest M.
