Staff noted three areas of concern for the
closed Cove Contractors landfill:
Sparse vegetation was noted on the top deck and the south side slope of the landfill
cover,
2. Brush or small trees were noted on the south side slope adjacent to Duck Creek, and
3. A depressed area with ponded storm water was noted on the northeast portion of the
top deck.
By 31 October 2009 please submit documentation that maintenance has been performed on
the depressed area and that brush/trees have been removed from the south side slope.
Staff notes that the areas of sparse vegetation also showed signs of recent hydroseeding.
Board staff will re -inspect the site. in mid-March to observe if the hydroseeding is promoting
new vegetation on the top deck and side slopes.
If you have questions, please contact me at mboyd@waterboards.ca.gov or (916) 464-4676.
Mary Boyd
Water Resource Control Engineer
Compliance and Enforcement
Title 27 and Non 15 Programs
Enclosure: Inspection Report
cc:.
