All
contaminated disposable clothing (e.g. gloves) will be properly bagged and disposed of
accordingly. All personnel will be instructed to wash hands, face, neck, and forearms at the
end of the work shift and to shower at the end of each workday. In addition, eating, drinking, or
smoking is not permitted on-Site.
Entry into contaminated areas will be limited to avoid unnecessary exposure and potential
spread of contaminants. In the event field or sampling equipment is utilized in the contaminated
areas, the equipment will be properly decontaminated as discussed below.
To ensure that no cross contamination between samples will occur, the sampling equipment will
be decontaminated using a triple rinse process between sampling events. In addition,
equipment leaving the Exclusion/Contamination Zone will also be decontaminated prior to
entering the Support/Clean Zone. The equipment will initially be washed using a solution of
phosphate-free detergent in water followed by rinsing with water. Finally, the equipment will be
rinsed with distilled/deionized water. Equipment decontamination procedures will be
conducted in a designated area on plastic sheeting or equivalent protective surface. Clean
equipment being stored for more than a few hours will be covered with plastic sheeting or
placed in clean plastic bags.
24
Lam.
P:\707 Cove Contractors\Groundwater\Well Installation Workplans\SHSP\SHSP_FINAL.doc
