Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Re: Grover Compost Operation, Manteca.
Dear Mr. Padilla:
I have forwarded this correspondence in order to assure you that the
Grover compost operation under development on the Spreckels Sugar
property at the northwest corner of State Routes 99 and 120, has
received permit approvals from the city of Manteca. Grover Landscape
Services Inc. was granted approval on February 28, 1995, to receive,
grind and compost green waste materials and sugar beet by-products;
screen it and sell (wholesale) to agriculture and landscape and
nursery industries.
The compost operation underwent environmental review while undergoing
normal project evaluation, and was issued a mitigated negative
declaration determination. There were no significant, unmitigated
environmental impacts identified.
From my recent inspections of the site it would appear that the
operation is complying with the city requirements.
I have enclosed copies of the City' s environmental document,
development conditions, and approval letter.
S cere y
Benjamin J.
