• 2.4.1 WASTE TYPES
Waste types accepted at the CVWSMRF/TS include the following:
• Mixed residential waste
• Mixed light commercial/industrial waste
• Source separated recyclables
• Commingled recyclables
• Wood waste
• Construction and demolition debris
• Gypsum
• Green and yard waste
• Food processing wastes
• White goods
• Bulky waste
• Tires
• Metals
• Cathod Ray Tubes (CRTs)
in accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17407.5(a) and (c), the operator does not
z intentionally accept or sfore hazardous wastes, including paint or any
liquid wastes (i.e., sewage sludge, industrial waste, water treatment sludge, grit
screenings or other high liquid content wastes), designated waste or wastes
requiring special handling. In addition, untreated medical wastes are not
accepted by the operator in accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17408.2.
2.4.2 WASTE QUANTITIES
The CVWSMRF/TS design is capable of receiving and transferring a maximum of
1,700 tpd of non -hazardous solid waste and/or source separated recyclables.
This figure represents the maximum quantity of waste/recyclables the facility will
handle during the hours of operations. This design also allows the operator to
have adequate storage capacity for residual wastes awaiting removal to a
disposal site within 48 hours as allowed under 14 CCR, Section 17410.1.
The current average daily throughput is approximately 700 tpd with peak
loadings of approximately 1,700 tpd. Sufficient space to store materials during
peak operating periods without infringing upon traffic flow or equipment
• operation is available at the facility. In instances of emergency situations where
the inflow rate could be increased and/or additional waste storage is needed,
Central Valley Waste Services MRF/TS 2-5
Transfer/Processing Report
(l:\Wstemgmt\2002.040\Reports\FinarrPR\Sec2:05/13/02) BRYAN A.
