As described in Section 3.1.4.2 above, CVWS accepts Universal <br />Wastes for recycling. <br />In the event of a spill meeting reportable quantities, the LEA will be <br />contacted. All unlawful incidents of disposal will be noted in the using <br />the loadcheck program and special incidents of major concern in the <br />special occurrences log. When a major incident involving hazardous <br />materials/waste occurs the manager shall complete a full report that <br />describes the type and quantity of hazardous waste found, the time <br />and circumstances of the hazardous waste discovery, the isolation <br />measures taken, and any information that may identify the origin of the <br />waste and any other pertinent information. This report shall be <br />completed when the hazardous waste is secured in a locked container <br />and submitted by the General Manager to the LEA within 48 hours. <br />The waste will be stored in the temporary hazardous waste storage <br />area located near the entrance to the transfer station as shown on <br />Figure 5 or elsewhere as designated by the authorities and/or <br />management. The waste will be removed within the timeframe <br />required by Title 22, Section 66262.34. Copies of the loadchecking <br />records for the last year are maintained in the operating record and are <br />available for review by the regulatory agencies. <br />3.1.7 PERSONNEL HEALTH AND SAFETY PROGRAM <br />In accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17408.7, the operator has <br />prepared a safety plan in accordance with SB 198 (Injury and Illness <br />Prevention Program). This plan is maintained at CVWS main <br />administration office. <br />All personnel directly involved with the operation of the MRF and <br />transfer station are equipped and required to use proper footwear. <br />Safety equipment, such as hard hats, gloves and safety glasses are <br />provided. Ear plugs and dust masks are required when performing any <br />task that could produce flying particles or excessive noise levels. <br />Appropriate gloves are provided and required when handling materials <br />with sharp or jagged edges which may result in lacerations.
