constantly with ground crew personnel to minimize any possible <br />accident. <br />Industrial first aid kits are provided and are located in the MRF, <br />maintenance facility and administrative offices. Emergency <br />eyewash/shower units are provided and are located in the MRF, <br />transfer station and maintenance facility. Hand washing facilities and <br />liquid hand soap are provided and their use required for personal <br />hygiene. <br />3.1.8 LOAD CHECKING <br />In accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17409.5(a), the operator has <br />implemented a load -checking program at the CVWS. An example of a <br />typical Load Check Data Sheet and associated forms are included in <br />Appendix D. Site personnel are trained in the recognition, proper <br />handling and disposition of prohibited waste. Load checking records <br />for the previous year are maintained for future reference at the CVWS <br />The screening of incoming loads for hazardous and prohibited wastes <br />begins at the scale house. Customers are asked if they have any <br />hazardous or prohibited waste within their load. Signs indicating what <br />types of waste are prohibited for disposal are posted on the scale <br />house. As described in Section 3.1.4.2 above, CVWS accepts <br />Universal Wastes & hazardous waste for recycling during designated <br />events and used oil from the public during normal operating hours. <br />The company has adopted a visual inspection program to prevent the <br />unloading of any unacceptable materials including hazardous waste. If <br />hazardous materials are detected in a load, the scale house attendant <br />will notify the driver that the load contains hazardous materials that are <br />not accepted at the station. Before the vehicle is turned from the site, <br />all information indicated on the Load Check Data Sheet (see Appendix <br />D) is obtained and recorded.
