The CVWS design is capable of receiving and transferring a
maximum of 1,700 tpd of non-hazardous solid waste and/or source separated
recyclables. This figure represents the maximum quantity of
waste/recyclables the facility will handle during the hours of operations. This
design also allows the operator to have adequate storage capacity for
residual wastes awaiting removal to a disposal site within 48 hours as allowed
under 14 CCR, Section 17410.1.
The current average daily throughput is approximately 700 tpd with peak
loadings of approximately 1,700 tpd. Sufficient space to store materials
during peak operating periods without infringing upon traffic flow or equipment
operation is available at the facility. In instances of emergency situations
where the inflow rate could be increased and/or additional waste storage is
needed, the LEA will be contacted to coordinate the best procedures to
minimize potential public health hazards for this type of short term condition.
2.4.3 FINAL DISPOSAL OF SOLID WASTE
Solid wastes collected from the City of Lodi and surrounding communities are
processed through the CVWS and then transferred to a
permitted landfill. Currently the following landfills are utilized: Kiefer Road
Landfill & -North County Landfill as shown on
Figure 9. Other Landfills may be used in the future, such as Foothill Landfill.
2.5 EQUIPMENT
A variety of equipment is used in the operation of the station. The equipment
on-site adequately serves operational and maintenance needs in accordance
with 14 CCR, Section 17416.3. A detailed list of current equipment is shown
in Table 2. In addition, Table 2 includes equipment capacity information, as
applicable, and Section 2.3.2 includes maximum refuse/material throughput
computations based on the current transfer trailer capability.
Table 2
Central Valley MRF/Transfer Station
List of Operating Equipment
Central Valley Waste Services MRFITS 2-7
Transfer/Processing Report
Section 2-3!15,11-34/24/17
