Rick,
1 Thanks for the prompt response. Good to know that there was nothing out of the ordinary in the
facility operation last week. I have observed Sean and staff doing good work at processing the
materials on as first received, first processed ways, to eliminate of having materials sitting on the
tipping floor for long periods. We have discussed the need for the load check measures also to
include observations and immediate removal of inadvertent putrescible wastes on the received
loads. Continue with all of these measures.
Sean and staff have done well at monitoring and cleaning windblown litters at the adjacent
streets. I have observed facility employees cleaning litter along Weber and Filbert Streets. Sean
uses the Sweeper to clean the nearby streets and the events are logged in the Log of Special
Occurrences. I have observed Sean retrieving discarded Mattresses from the comer of Weber
and"F" streets. These are good neighbor measures, and we encourage that you continue with the
practices.
Continue tooperate your facility consistent with the terms and conditions of the permit and
TPR. I will continue to work with you and your staff to ensure that State Standards are met in
the operation.
From: Rick Powell [mailto:RPowell@stocktonrecycling.com]
Sent:Thursday, October 06, 20118:29 AM
To: Gebrehawariat,Tadese
Subject: RE: East Stockton Transfer and Recycling Station (39-AA-0018)
Good Morning Tad,
Sean and I have discussed the operations at Weber Ave and can find no change in operations. In my
personal inspection of the facility I found nothing our of the ordinary nor any strong odors. We will
continue to monitor the facility insuring that we are operating in accordance with our permits and being a
good neighbor. I also contacted the owners of the store across the street from our facility and asked if
they had noticed any odors, they stated no. I asked if they could write a letter stating that, they said the
would be happy to. I expect that letter later today as soon as I get it I will scan and email it to you.
Rick Powell
SRI
