9' <br />E <br />E <br />M # I 1101"m <br />Manteca, Ca95336 <br />January 07, 2013 <br />The following Hazard Communication Program (commonly referred to as the Employee Right - <br />To -Know Program) has been established by Republic Services for the protection of all personnel. <br />Any chemical which is known to be present at the facility in such a manner that personnel may <br />be exposed under normal conditions of use or in a foreseeable emergency are included within the <br />scope of this program. The purpose of this Hazard Communication Program is: <br />a. To establish guidelines for handling and control of potentially hazardous materials by <br />documentation of health and safety information on all chemical products and raw <br />materials used at work by the Republic Services personnel. <br />b. To identify purchased chemical products, contents, and location of use for safety training <br />and emergency response, <br />c. To comply with the Federal OSHA regulation on Hazard Communication 29 CFR <br />1910.1200, state hazard communication regulations, and to provide a safe and healthful <br />workplace for Republic Set -vices personnel. <br />d. To train Republic Services personnel in the proper use of chemicals and/or products <br />containing potentially hazardous chemicals while working at this facility. <br />e, To develop a protocol that all personnel are required to follow before performing non- <br />routine tasks with potentially hazardous chemicals. <br />Materials that are not covered under this Hazard Communication Program are RCRA Hazardous <br />Waste, CECLA Hazardous Substances, Tobacco or tobacco products, Wood or wood products, <br />Food or alcoholic beverages, Cosmetics, Drugs, Articles, Consumer Products, Ionizing and non <br />ionizing radiation or biological hazards. For detailed definitions on these materials consult the <br />OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1200 on Hazard Communication. <br />Article - means a manufactured item other than a fluid or particle: <br />6 Which is formed to a specific shape or design during manufacture, <br />• Which has end use function(s) dependent in whole or in pail upon its shape or design <br />during end use, <br />• Which under normal conditions of use does not release more than very small quantities, <br />e.g., minute or trace amounts of a hazardous chemical, and <br />* Does not pose a physical hazard or health risk to personnel <br />0 2009 RepublIc services <br />E <br />Hazard Communication Program <br />
