9 0
further deterioration of the paved ground. Additionally, he
observed a big hole at the southern portion of the storm
drainage pond due to a drainage outflow from the drainage
pipe.
Response:
The pothole near the fuel storage tank as well as others at
the site have been repaired using asphalt concrete.
The Solid Waste Foreman will inspect paved surfaces weekly for
deterioration. Deteriorated areas will be immediately
repaired by County Public Works Department personnel.
An erosion problem was observed at the storm drainage inlet
to the site's drainage pond. The County will repair the
eroded area and place a cobbled or concrete apron to prevent
a reoccurrence of erosion. The repair work will be
accomplished prior to October 1, 1990. the County LEA
officer, Mr. Ed Padilla, will be notified when the work has
been completed.
14 CCR 17512 - Clean-up
Concern⢠
Litter and loose materials were not collected at the end of
the operating day. However, Felipe Lomas (Site Supervisor)
told Mr. Ramos that they clean the station every morning prior
to unloading wastes at the tipping floor. Each station
handling an average volume of over 100 cubic yards of waste
per day must be cleaned daily of all loose materials and
litter pursuant to the requirements of this section.
Response⢠
The station has had a continuous cleaning operations for the
last 6 years. Litter and loose materials are picked up on a
day long continuous basis by facility employees and AWP
Workers. An AWP worker is an alternative to jail time program
worker that works at County facilities in lieu of serving jail
time. AWP workers are used to direct traffic and pick up
litter and loose materials both on and off site at the
transfer station.
Currently, AWP laborers work from 7AM to 4PM. Their work
hours will be changed to 8AM to 5PM starting July 23, 1990.
This change will be permanent and will allow the cleaning
program to continue daily until closing time for the facility.
5
