Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95201
LOVELACE ROAD TRANSFER STATION - SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
Staff of the California Integrated Waste Management Board notified the Regional
Board of the discharge of liquid waste to a pond at the Lovelace Transfer
Station. In response to this notification, Regional Board staff inspected the
pond. A copy of the inspection memo is enclosed.
Since the pond was dry at the time of our inspection and will not be used until
the rainy season, we cannot determine if this discharge is in compliance with
regulations concerning the discharge of waste to land. We request San Joaquin
County evaluate the liquid wastes discharged to the pond and determine if these
liquids are a 'designated' waste as defined by Title 23 of the California Code
of Regulations, Chapter 3, Subchapter 15. The County's evaluation should begin
as soon as the pond is placed back into operation at the beginning of the wet
season. The County's evaluation should be completed no later than 1 February
1991.
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-5741.
xz
41
William-J.
