PAYNE <br />DEPUTY DIRECTOR <br />The following is given in response to the inspection of the <br />Transfer Station noted above. Please attach our response to the <br />inspection report in your files. <br />Response to comments: <br />1. Windy day causes paper -waste to blow through bottom of <br />screening on east side fencing, garbage is starting to <br />accumulate. <br />It was very windy during the day of inspection and paper was <br />accumulating along the fence. Some litter was escaping the <br />Transfer Station property. However, four people were assigned <br />full time that day to litter control and were picking up <br />paper. At the end of the working day, all litter had been <br />removed from the fence area and had been removed from <br />surrounding property. It is the practice of the Transfer <br />Station to remove litter on a continual basis and all litter <br />by the end of the working day. Therefore, this should not <br />have been a concern. <br />It is not understood what was meant by the statement garbage <br />is starting to accumulate. It is the policy to remove all <br />waste by the end of the working day. Therefore, there was no <br />waste accumulation by the end of the day. Apparently, the <br />inspector was concerned that garbage accumulates between <br />transfer loads going to the landfill. This is a normal <br />
