September 6
2 1977
LOVELACE TRANSFER STATION
Site Specifications
The site location is well defined in the Aerial Photo of
the transfer station. The plan for the site is established as
shown. The land uses are supplied on the Site Location Plan as
well as the distances to the nearest structures.
EngineerinZ Report
The transfer station processes household waste delivered by
the contract carriers in the adjacent cities. The remainder of
the waste is primarily yard rubbish and discarded material brought
by homeowners.
We currently are processing in excess of 2 ,000 C.Y. each day.
The composition of the waste stream is a mixture of paper, glass ,
metals , which include ferrous and non-ferrous metals , and miscel-
laneous waste material.
This transfer station does not receive hazardous wastes or
any liquid waste for disposal. Liquid wastes would be delivered
direct to a suitable landfill site. The hazardous wastes are
transported to a Class I site outside San Joaquin County by the
agency that has generated the hazardous waste.
We do experience some peak loadings in the fall and spring
of the year which appear to be composed of tree trimmings , garden
clippings etc.
The quantity of solid waste received at the transfer station
for the Fiscal Year 76-77 totaled 720 ,972 C.Y. We can project
our 10 year load will generate 1 ,008,000 C.Y. for the Fiscal Year
86-87.
Station Operation
The Lovelace Transfer Station is open from 7:00 A.M. to
5:00 P.M. , seven days a week. They are closed only 3 days of the
year on Thanksgiving , Christmas and New Year' s Day.
The sanitary facilities are shown on the site plan. There
are two portable toilets in use.
The existing well provides an adequate supply of water for
the site. There are several water outlets located on the property.
