Aft,
Lovelace T.S. Page 2 of 2
39-AA-08
AREAS OF CONCERN
The facility was found in compliance with all other applicable
standards. However, the following areas of concern were noted:
17486 - Station Contruction
A high scaffolding was used by employees to check and adjust the
loads of out-going transfer trucks (Slide 6) . This operation
appeared to unnecessarily endangered site employees. Ken
Belcher, Site Supervisor stated that the practice was to be
discontinued in the near future in favor of a safer althernative.
17557 - Station Maintenace Program
Large pot holes in the pavement near the employees but were in
need of repair (Slide 11) .
17562 - Hazardous Waste
Used motoroilfrom a recently discontinued recycling program was
observed to be stored at the site. This oil should be removed
within 90 days of receipt in order to comply with state hazardous
waste regulations.
CORRECTIONS IMPLEKENTED
The following corrective measures were undertaken at the site
between the first and second field inspections:
17492 - Water §ypply
Employee drinking water supplied by an on-site well was tested at
the request of the first inspector and found to be in compliance
with State Drinking Water Standards.
CONCLUSION
I found the site to be generally well operated and maintained
with only the few problems noted above.
ltoWbte ManagemenSpecialist
