The presence of this waste material indicates that at' least part of
this pond has been constructed in old waste material. Pursuant to this section, the station
shall be designed in such a manner to minimize the propagation or attraction of flies,
rodents, or other vectors and the creation of nuisances by reason of solid wastes being
deposited at the station. Other factors which shall be taken into consideration are water
and air quality; noise control, odor control, public safety and other pertinent matters
related to the protection of public-health. -The CRWQCB will be advised of this issue.
14 CCR 17534 Drainage Control
At the time of this inspection, waste material was observed accumulated around the edge of
the retention pond and at the drainage pipe outfall. The operator stated that much of this .
waste material was the result of draining waste water from the truck loading bay where the
drainage basin had plugged. Pursuant to this section, drainage leaving the station shall
not contain solids, wash water, or leachate emanating from solid wastes. The California
Regional Water Quality Control Board (CRWQCB) will be advised of this issue.
Associate Waste Aanagement Specialist
