information will be reported. The report shall be completed when the hazardous waste is secured
in a locked container, and will be submitted by site supervisory staff to the LEA within 48 hours.
The waste will be stored in the temporary hazardous waste storage area located near the
entrance to the MRF (Figure 4). The waste will be removed within the timeframe required by Title
22, Section 66262.34.
Copies of the load checking records for the last year are maintained in the operating record and
are available for review by the regulatory agencies.
Some of the materials diverted from the commercial and residential waste stream for
management in accordance with the State and Federal regulations include:
. Latex Paint
• Automobile parts and components
• Refrigerators
• Cathode Ray Tubes (CRT's)
• Computer Monitors
• Automobile and Truck Tires
• Waste oil and Filters
The acceptance and management of these items is regularly re-evaluated based on the
requirements of State and Federal law. (See Load Checking and Appendix F: Hazardous Waste
Exclusion Program).
Wastes requiring special handling or treatment, with the exception of tires, are not generally
accepted. Whole tires will be segregated from the waste stream by hand and stacked (laced
fashion)when deposited in a trailer. The tires will be transported off-site by "Golden By-Products
Incorporated" for disposal and /or recycling. A loading dock is constructed in the south end of
the tipping/sorting floor entrance for loading tires onto the trailer. Copies of manifests are kept in
the cashiers booth in the scale house.
Lovelace MRF and Transfer Station Department of Public Works/Solid Waste Division
Transfer Processing Report County of San Joaquin
April 10,2015 25
