n <br />• Equipment operators have been instructed to look to the rear prior to backing equipment. <br />• Equipment is equipped with audible back up alarms and rear view mirrors. <br />• Radio communication is maintained as needed between the equipment operators and <br />personnel working on the tipping floor. <br />• Safety meetings are held regularly with all personnel and personnel are constantly <br />reminded to be aware of working around mobile equipment on the tipping floor. <br />• When two or more pieces of equipment will be working in a confined area for a period of <br />30 minutes or more, the area is cordoned off and personnel working on the tipping floor <br />will be instructed to maintain a distance of 75 ft to 100 ft. <br />The compactor and the backhoe are operated an averalze of three hours dailv while the loaders are <br />operated an average of seven hours daily. When the compactor, backhoe and the two loaders are <br />operated simultaneously, equipment operators and other staff on the tipping floor are made aware <br />that all four pieces of equipment are operating on the tipping floor, and maintain a distance of 15 <br />to 20 ft from each other. Also, equipment operators make use of the horn on the equipment to <br />make personnel aware of their presence. <br />6-MLF'jVjM <br />Transfer trucks enter the site and proceed to the ramp at the rear of the transfer- L.,,ildi,g. During loading, the vehicle weight is monitored using a platform scale at the bottom of the <br />transfer chute, allowing the trailer to be filled to the maximum allowed weight.
