MacArthur Drive, Tracy, California 95377
washing facilities, which may be required by applicable state or local
requirements, in a reasonably clean and adequately supplied condition.
Scavenging and Salvaging [14 CCR 17409.3]
No scavenging will occur at the facility since the general public will not be
allowed on site. Salvaging of metals, wood, and inerts are be part of operations
and be limited to the processing areas shown on site plans in the Figures
section. Storage of salvaged metals will be located on perimeter of the C&D
Operations Area and the Inert Processing Area, will be consolidated with like
materials at the MRF building, and removed from site regularly for delivery to
recycling facilities.
Salvaging activities will be controlled by site employees so as to not interfere with
other site operations, including entry and exit of vehicles delivering waste to the
facility, and to prevent health, safety or nuisance problems. Debris piles will not
be formed in tipping areas and will be limited to no more than 5,000 cubic yards
in size, and remain in place for no longer than 30 days to minimize risk of fire,
health and safety hazard, vector harborage, or other hazard or nuisance.
Wood waste will be stored and processed or marketed as a recycled product.
Unprocessed wood waste will be stored separately from processed materials, as
shown on the Site Plan. Once processed, wood waste will removed from bins
and stockpiled. This clean wood debris will either be chipped/ground on site and
transported to markets or used as feedstock at the onsite composting facility, or
removed from site regularly for transportation to wood recyclers or brokers for
further processing, within 30 days.
Dry wall debris will be stored onsite pending transportation to a recycler or broker
for reuse, or to a permitted landfill for disposal within 30 days.
Storage of salvaged metals will be in separate storage bins located on perimeter
of the C&D Operations Area and will be removed from the site regularly for
transportation to metal recyclers or brokers for further processing.
Reject materials (e.g. residual contaminants and unmarketable materials)
removed from the processing area are loaded into debris boxes for transport to a
permitted landfill for disposal.
Signs [14 CCR 17409.4]
The main entrance and access road is clearly posted with signs denoting the
facility name, the facility phone number, schedule of charges, hours and the
types of materials that will, and will not be accepted at the scales, for commercial
and general public vehicles.
