Report of Composting Site Information
Tracy Material Recovery Facility and Transfer Station
30703 S. MacAurthur Drive, Tracy, Ca. 95377
J. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED METHOD FOR STORAGE AND FINAL
® DISPOSAL OF NONRECOVERABLE OR NONMARKETABLE RESIDUES.
Non-recoverable material is likely to be encountered during normal operations. The
quantity of contaminant materials such as glass and cans from restaurant wastes, and
plastics from grocery store wastes, will be recovered from the feedstock and will be
temporarily stored on-site. The facility is equipped with ample storage and the operator
will transfer and remove residuals. The contaminant materials such as glass and cans
from restaurant wastes, and plastics from grocery store wastes, will be recovered from
the feedstock and will be temporarily stored on-site. Recyclables shipped to the facility
will be stored outside in bins or in bunkers inside the building. MSW disposal residues
will be taken to a permitted landfill.
K. DESCRIPTION OF THE WATER SUPPLIES FOR PROCESS WATER
REQUIRED
Assuming a maximum throughput of 200 tons per day the facility could require up to
21,600 gallons of process water per day. The on-site well has a capacity of 250 gallons
per minute and is more than sufficient to achieve this maximum requirement. This
water is suitable for use in the composting process to maintain the proper moisture
content. Water for feedstock conditioning will be added using a piped irrigation system.
The water will be added on the surface of the piles before turning to incorporate
moisture into the pile to during the turning of the windrows. Water will be added as
required to maintain moisture content at or near 30 percent. The covered aerated static
piles are watered when moved during processing or covers may be removed to
accommodate supplementary watering, if needed.
L. IDENTIFICATION OF PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR OVERSIGHT OF
FACILITY OPERATIONS
Tracy Material Recovery & Solid Waste Transfer, Inc., is both owner and operator of the
site. The following person is responsible for site operations:
Mike Repetto
Owner
30703 S. Macarthur Drive
Tracy, CA 95376
Phone (209) 835-0601
M.
