Construction of the lagoon
was completed on December 31, 1993 . The testing was performed to
ensure compliance with the State of California Regulations for
! confined animal facilities . As the attached diagram illustrates,
there are two lagoons adjacent to one another, separated by a
levee. The south lagoon will be used to retain and digest the
a chicken manure, while the north pond will be used for rainwater
overflow storage.
GOON OPERATION
Manure from the layers will be deposited manually from manure carts
into a concrete box and subsequently allowed to disperse throughout
the south lagoon. Water will be used to further liquify the manure
and assist in its dispersal . The lagoon will primarily function
4 anaerobically, although it may also be considered a facultative
lagoon whereby there is a surface aerobic zone and a subsurface
anaerobic zone. This type of lagoon operation is appealing because
of low capital and operating costs, low labor and energy
requirements, and simplicity. The main disadvantages are sludge
{ t
Our reports and letters are submitted as the confidential property of our clients for their exclusive use.Any publication or reproduction of statements, conclusions or extracts from or
regarding our reports or letters Is reserved, contingent upon the written authorization of Quality Control inspection,Inc.
