Power <br /> S.K.S. receives their electricity from PG&E. There is a back up generator on-site to <br /> maintain the facility incase of a power outage <br /> PERSONNEL <br /> The compost facility is on the same site as the poultry operation. The poultry facility is <br /> in operation 7 days a week therefore there will always be a knowledgeable, properly <br /> trained,individual on-site to address an emergency if one was to occur. <br /> PERSONNEL TRAINING <br /> Personnel working in the compost facility will be trained in to following areas. <br /> Basic fire extinguisher lessons on how to use fire extinguishers and what type of <br /> extinguishers are needed for a compost facility. Maintenance of fire extinguishers, fire <br /> extinguishers will be checked to make sure extinguishers are recharged before <br /> expiration dates. Recharging of fire extinguishers will be carried out by a company <br /> that is licensed to carry out this job. <br /> Equipment safety training pertaining to the use of the compost machine, tractors, <br /> loaders,and equipment required to accomplish the task. <br /> VECTOR CONTROL <br /> SKS Enterprises maintains an active and ongoing rodent and fly control program. <br /> Cutting,mowing and/or removing weeds and brush away from the production buildings <br /> and processing plant (minimum 25 feet) to reduce rodent harborage. Areas around <br /> buildings will remain free of unwanted debris and material. Varieties of rodent baits <br /> are utilized for the control of rodents on the poultry facilities. Rodenticides will be <br /> rotated by active ingredient 1 — 2 times a year. Each building has Tin cats and is <br /> monitored on a bimonthly basis. If rodent activity is noticed,bait will be replaced and if <br /> necessary one or two additional bait stations will be placed in the vicinity. If the number <br /> of rodents caught, found dead or seen visually increases, then the baiting level and <br /> frequency of monitoring will be elevated. Fly control is monitored by carrying a fly <br /> sticky tape up and back through the aisles and walking at a normal pace then the number <br /> of flies will counted and recorded bimonthly. A record of 75 or fewer flies indicates <br /> satisfactory. All vector control is done on site by SKS employees.Records are kept at the <br /> office. <br /> 12 <br />
