ION AGENCY <br />CALIFORNIA REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD— <br />CENTRAL VALLEY REGION <br />3443 ROUTIER ROAD, SUITE A <br />SACRAMENTO, CA 95827-3098 <br />PHONE: (916) 255-3000 <br />FAX: (916) 255-3015 <br />22 December 1992 <br />Mr. Nyet Yong <br />1513 River Oaks Dr. <br />Modesto, CA 95356 <br />SOIL TEST RESULTS FROM POULTRY WASTE POMDS <br />PETE WILSON, Governor <br />I received a report from Quality Control Inspections, Modesto, containing <br />results of soil tests performed on samples taken from ponds at your poultry <br />facility at 18401 Atkins Road. <br />Test results on samples taken by QCI personnel indicate clay in excess of 10%. <br />However, levels of gravel reported are in excess of 10%. <br />Section 2562 (f), Chapter 15, Division 3, Title 23 of the California Code -of <br />Regulations requires waste retention ponds at confined animal facilities to be <br />lined with or underlain by soils which contain at least 10% clay and not more <br />than 10% gravel. <br />Before using the ponds to retain animal waste, please submit to this office a <br />report prepared by a licensed civil engineer or engineering geologist <br />verifying that the ponds have been brought into compliance with the <br />regulations. <br />If you have any questions please call me at (916) 255-3110. <br />re i2� <br />UIS F.
