OF TRq
CITY OF TRACY
Utilities Division
3900 Holly Drive Telephone: (209)836-1650
e o
r
Tracy, ( )CA 95376 Fax: 209 836-0932
ORPOR
acres in Field # 7 did not receive sludge because of a shortage in the amount of material.
Supplemental fertilizer was applied to this portion of that field. Additions have been
calculated as if the nutrients had been applied to the entire acreage of each field. The
supplemental added to Field # 3 was intented to satisfy a crop of wheat grown along with
the alfalfa.
6. Table 7 shows the annual application of the EPA 503 metals to each of the fields.
7. Table 8 shows the cumulative addition of the EPA 503 metals to each of the K&L
Farm fields. These additions are well below the EPA criteria.
8. Table 9 shows results of the soil sampling that was done on Fields IA, 3A, 3B, 5, 6,
7A and 7B. As you can see, the soluble levels are well below the criteria set.
9. Surface water and groundwater monitoring results are being submitted on Tables 10
and 11. All of the metal results were well within the criteria set. TDS values have always
been high in the groundwater and are high in the domestic well and the background
Monitoring Well #4. Surface water samples were collected from the ditch returning field
runoff to the collection ponds and also from the discharge to the San Joaquin River Club
lakes.
10. I am sending a copy of our sampling plan and procedures used to collect soil samples
from fields IA, 3A, 3B, 5, 6, 7A and 7B.
The data appears to illustrate that we are in compliance with our discharge requirements
and also with the EPA 503 requirements.
Let me know if you need any other information or how I might improve this reporting
format to better suit our needs.
Sincerely,
Darrell D. Scott
Water Quality Laboratory Supervisor
cc: Ed Padilla, San Joaquin County Dept. of Health Services
Ed Kaiser, K&L Farms
2
