In conducting,the receiving water sampling a log shall be kept of the receiving water conditions throughout the reach bounded by Stations R-1 and R-2. Attention shall be given to the presence or absence of. a. Floating or suspended matter b. Discoloration c. Bottom deposits d. Aquatic life Notes on receiving water conditions shall be summarized in the monitoring report. THREE SPECIES CHRONZIC TOXIC=MONITORING Chronic toxicity monitoring shall be conducted to determine whether'the effluent is contributing toxicity to the River. The testing shall be conducted as specified in EPA 600-4-91-002. Chronic toxicity samples shall be collected at the discharge of the Manteca Wastewater Treatment Plant prior to its entering the River. Twenty-four hour composite samples shall be representative of the volume and quality of the discharge. Time of sample collection shall be recorded. Chronic toxicity monitoring shall include the following: Species: Pimephales promelas, Ceriodaphnia dubia, Selenastrurn capncomut= Frequency: Once per quarter, four quarters per year The Discharger shall conduct quarterly chronic toxicity testing using 100 percent effiuent and 2 controls. If toxicity is found in any of the 100 percent test, the Discharger must immediately retest using the full sampling protocol of 5 dilutions listed below.
