MONITORING AND REPORTING PROGRAM 5 CITY OF MANTECA AND CITY OF LATHROP WASTEWATER QUALITY CONTROL FACILITY SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY Dilution Series: Dilutions (%1 Control River Lab 100 33 11 3_6 1_2 Water Water %WWTP Effluent 100 33 11 3.6 1.2 0 0 % Dilution Water 0 67 89 96.4 98.8 100 0 % Lab Water 0 0 0 0 0 0 100 SLUDGE MONITORING A composite sample of sludge shall be collected annually in accordance with EPA's POTW Sludge Sampling and Analysis Guidance Document, August 1989, and tested for the following metals: Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Lead, Mickel, and zinc Sampling records shall be retained for a minimum of five years. A log shall be kept of sludge quantities generated and of handling and disposal activities. The frequency of entries is discretionary; however, the log should be complete enough to serve as a basis for part of the annual report. SOIL PROFILE MONITORING A minimum of four representative locations shall be established for soil profile sampling of the fields where effluent and sludge are applied. The following shall constitute the monitoring program until modified in accordance�ith Provision 6: Measurement Units Soil Profile Fre Nritrate Nitrogen mg/kg 4 feet' Annually2 Kjeldahl Nitrogen MJkg 4 feet' Annually2 Soluble Salts' mg/kg 4 feet' Amually2 Total Metals' m&/kg 4 feet' Annually' ' Samples shall be collected at 1-160ot increments. 2 Each location shall be sampled during the month of April 3 Soluble salts shall be determined using test methods described in Methods of Soil Analysis, Part 2, Chemical and Microbiological Properties, Second Edition;Edited by Page, Miller and Keeney;American Society of Agronomy, Inc., Soil Science Society of America, Inc.: 1982 Page 168 et seq., or other acceptable test methods with prior approval by the Executive officer. Analytical results shall report the soiliwater ratio. 4 Total Metals shall include analyses for Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Lead,Nickel, and Zinc.
