Verify corrective action measures as determined <br /> by verification surveys. Verification surveys will also be used to determine the limits of <br /> earthfills for measurement and payment applications. Submit copy of verification <br /> surveys to the Construction Manager. <br /> 3.4.4 Subgrade Preparation <br /> • Verify that grade control construction staking is performed prior to work. <br /> • Verify that angular or sharp rocks,and other debris that could damage the geomembrane <br /> are removed from the surface of the subgrade. Verify that the subgrade is free of <br /> irregularities and is steel drum rolled smooth prior to geosynthetic placement. <br /> • Verify that the final surface provides continuous and intimate contact with the overlying <br /> geosynthetic. <br /> • Coordinate with the Earthwork Contractor and Owner to perform subgrade verification <br /> surveys upon completion of the subgrade preparation. Verify corrective action measures <br /> as determined by the verification surveys. Verification surveys will also be used to <br /> determine the limits of the subgrade preparation for measurement and payment <br /> applications. Submit copy of verification surveys to the Construction Manager. <br /> 3.4.5 Granular Drainage Material <br /> • Review the Contractor's approved work plan of proposed methods to place granular <br /> drainage material over geosynthetic installations. Determine and note corrective action <br /> items if applicable. <br /> • Perform soil tests to verify that the granular drainage material is in compliance with <br /> material gradation and permeability requirements of the Specifications. Perform tests at <br /> testing frequencies specified in Section 3.2.2. <br /> • Monitor placement operations to verify that low ground pressure equipment is used in <br /> accordance with the Specifications and that underlying geosynthetics installations are not <br /> damaged during placement operations. Mark damaged geosynthetics and verify that <br /> damage is repaired. <br /> Page 18 <br />
