Landfill { Page 9 <br /> ® a three day approved asbestos workers training program <br /> ® any asbestos training program specific to landfill employees that has been developed, <br /> described,or required by regulation by either the CIWMB or Cal-OSHA <br /> ® any other asbestos training program approved by Cal-OSHA <br /> (c) Provision of water at the working face to keep ACM damp until covered. <br /> Continuation of the =ual physical evaluations of all on-site Forward employees for asbestos <br /> exposure. <br /> Workers will not be allowed to eat near the active landfill. <br /> 32 Austin 1994(L1.1),Austin 2000(Up <br /> Working clothes from workers who have had direct contact with waste, or who have <br /> performed operations that may involve direct contact with wastes(such as equipment <br /> maintenance or asbestos handling)should be left behind at the land illand cleaned by the <br /> operator; <br /> Changing areas should be provided at the project site so that workers do not carry material <br /> off-site; and <br /> Dost accumulated on non-washable items should be removed by vacuuming, not brushing or <br /> blowing. <br /> 33 (E.2) <br /> Proposed as Part of the Project: <br /> The Forward Landfill"load-checking program,"which is designed to mitigate against <br /> hazardous waste being placed in the landfill,will continue to be implemented for the <br /> consolidated landfill- <br /> Landfill operators will be trained to recognize and properly segregate and handle hazardous <br /> waste. This will include a 24-hour hazardous waste materials management training program <br /> that complies with 29 CFR,Section 1910. <br /> 34(E.3) <br /> Proposed as Part of the Project: <br /> The Standard Safe Work Practices listed in the Forward,Inc.Site Hem and Safety Program <br /> and Contingency Plan will be implemented by the operator. <br /> The landfill operator will comply with the provisions of CCR Title 27, Section 20590,which <br /> requires that 0&M personnel wear and use approved safety equipment for personal heath and <br /> safety. <br /> Landfill access will continue to be controlled to limit unauthorized entry by persons or <br /> vehicles. <br /> The landfill operator v611 comply with all provisions of CCR,Title 21,Division 2,Chapter 3, <br /> Subchapter 4,Articles 1-3,(requires personnel training and appropriate safety equipment) <br /> that apply to landfill health and safety. <br /> Identified in This EIR: <br />
