(AGE) and has the
following comments.
In correspondence dated May 24, 2007 the EHD approved Interim Soil Remediation Work Plan dated
May 10, 2007, which proposed conducting interim remediation of the soil contamination at your site by
soil vapor extraction (SVE). In subsequent EHD correspondence dated July 3, 2007 you were notified
that the deadline for implementation of the approved interim remediation was August 20, 2007.
In Interim Soil Remediation Work Plan Addendum dated April 14, 2008 AGE proposed modification to
the type of SVE system to be used in the remediation and stated that the system would be installed by
the end of May 2008. This deadline extension was approved by the EHD in correspondence dated
April 24, 2008, but there is still no SVE system installed or in operation at your site. You are currently
out of compliance with regulatory directives for failing to implement the approved interim remediation.
In the Letter AGE discusses three alternatives for supplying power necessary to operate the SVE
system, states which alternative they consider to be the most economical to implement, and requests
EHD approval to proceed with that method. The EHD will not comment on this detail of the proposed
system. Please proceed with installation and operation of the approved interim SVE remediation
system. The deadline for havincLthe system in operation is October 24 2008. Failure to meet this
deadline may result in referral of your site to theRegional Water Quality Control Board for
enforcement action. In addition, please remember that being in compliance with regulatory directives
is one requirement of eligibility to the State Water Resources Control Board Cleanup Fund.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at(209)468-0337.
Sincerely,
! «
Lori Duncan, REHS MargarREHS
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist Program Coordinator
cc: James Barton, CVRWQCB, 11020 Sun Center Drive, Suite 200, Rancho Cordova CA 95670
Ally Colavita, AGE, 837 Shaw Road, Stockton CA 95215
