1 <br /> 1 <br /> . Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br />' WATERLOO FOOD & FUEL <br /> 3032 E. Waterloo Road, Stockton, California <br />' 10. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br />' At the request of Mr Paul Sidhu, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br /> preliminary investigation and evaluation report(PIER)for the site located at 3032 E Waterloo Road, <br /> Stockton, California(site) The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1, a site plan is shown in <br />' Figure 2 <br /> The scope of work reported herein was performed in three phases Phase I included the advancement <br />' of four soil probe borings in the area of the former underground storage tanks (USTs) to assess the <br /> lateral and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and ground water Phase II included <br /> installation of four pilot soil borings for completion as ground water monitoring wells Phase IIT <br />' included two quarterly ground water monitoring events and interim ground water remediation <br />' 2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> The property is presently occupied by Waterloo Food & Fuel, which consists of a one-story mint- <br /> mart structure and gasoline fueling facility The gasoline fueling facility consists of two USTs, three <br /> dispenser islands and a canopy Three former USTs are also indicated on site plan <br /> 2 1 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> rAGE has been informed that on 06 January 1999, Oil Equipment Service (OES) of San Andreas, <br /> CA , removed four UST's identified as T-1 (5,000-gallon gasoline UST), T-2 (10,000-gallon <br /> gasoline UST), T-3 (10,000-gallon gasoline UST), T-4 (500-gallon waste oil UST), dispensers and <br /> associated piping, as illustrated in figure 2 Additionally, during excavation, OES discovered two <br /> unknown UST's, identified Iater as USTs #5 and #6 Geotechnical Research and Development <br /> (GRD) of Sutter Creek conducted the soil sampling during the UST removal <br /> On 11 February 1999 AGE personnel collected four soil samples from stockpile #2 for the purpose <br /> of characterization and profiling for disposal Samples were identified as SS2-1,2,3,4 (SS2-1-4 <br /> composite) <br /> On 16 February 1999 USTs #5 and 46 were removed by OES, samples were collected from beneath <br /> each UST by AGE personnel as directed by a PHS-EHD official The soil samples were identified <br /> as SP-6 (stockpile #6), SP-7 (stockpile #7), SS-1-T6N (UST 96, north), SS-2-T5N (UST #5, north), <br /> SS-3-T5S (UST #5, south), and SS-4-T6S (UST #6, south) <br /> I <br />
