14 December 2000
AGE-NC Project No 99-0559
' On 22 February 1999 AGE directed OES in the excavation of approximately 100 cubic yards of
hydrocarbon-impacted soil and the removal of approximately 125 cubic yards of hydrocarbon-
impacted stockpiled soil from the site A total of five trucks from; Dillard Trucking of Byron CA
' were utilized to haul 13 loads or soil to BI;I Vasco Road Landfill in Livermore CA After stockpiled
soil was removed from the site and additional soil was excavated, soil samples were collected from
the excavation by AGE personnel as directed by the PHS-EHD Samples were identified as TS-1-14',
' TS-2-14', TS-3-14' and TS-4-14'
On 10 March 1999, directed by PHS-EI-ID, AGE collected three soil samples identified as S13-1
' (east), SB-2 (middle), and SB-3 (west) from the base of the canopy footing excavations at
approximately 6 feet bsg The samples were field screened utilizing an organic vapor meter(OVM)
The results of the field screen were 0 ppm, 50 ppm, and 118 ppm, respectively
' On 19 March 1999, as directed by the PHS-EHD, AGE collected soil samples from the new product
' piping trenches and field screened the samples with an OVM Samples collected were identified as
TS-1,through 9, and were collected from an approximate depth of two and three feet bsg Samples
TS-4 and TS-5 had vapor concentrations of 5 ppm and 2 ppm, respectively Sample locations were
' . north of the former UST T-1, UST #5, and UST #6 excavation and south of the new dispenser
islands
On 12 May 1999, as directed by the PHS-EHD, AGE collected soil stockpile samples identified as
AS-1, 2, 3 and 4, for the purpose of characterization and profiling for the relocation of soil offsite
After review of the analytical data and with the approval of PHS-EHD, approximately 100 cubic
yards of soil were relocated to 1836 Sutro Avenue, a residential property across the street from the
site, owned by Mr Anthony Giglio
 30 PROCEDURES
Tasks and procedures for this investigation were completed in accordance with the PHS-EHD
approved Preliminary Site Assessment Work Plan dated 12 October 1999 prepared by AGE
This report is prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the California Regional Water
Quality Control Board _ Central Valley Region (CRWQCB-CVR) for subsurface investigation of
underground storage tank (UST) sites
3 1 ADVANCEMENT OF SOIL PROBE BORINGS
. Soil probe borings were advanced using a van-mounted Geoprobe 5400 direct-push probing unit
equipped with 1 25-inch probing rods The Geoprobe advances soil probe borings using a hydraulic
