18 June 2004
AGE-NC Project No 99-0559
HU6
TPH-g was detected at a concentration 330 gg/1 in sample MW-7E BTEX compounds were detected
in samples MW-6E and MW-7E at maximum concentrations of 40 µg/1, 9 4 µg/1, 11 gg/1 and 35
Ag/l, respectively, in sample MW-7E In addition, MTBE was detected in sample MW-7E at
concentration of 41 µg/1
The analytical results of current and historical ground water samples are summarized in Table 2 An
iso-concentration map for the first ground level for March 2004,displaying the estimated distribution
of dissolved benzene and MTBE is depicted in Figure 8 An iso-concentration cross section for the
site for March 2004, displaying the estimated distribution of dissolved TPH-g,benzene and MTBE
is depicted in Figure 9 The laboratory reports(CTEL I D nos CT214-0403190), quality assurance
and quality control (QA/QC) reports and cham-of-custody forms are included in Appendix B
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
. Based on data collected during the monitoring event, AGE concludes
• The general ground water flow direction for HU1/HU2 was towards the west-southwest
during the first quarter and the ground water flow direction was calculated to be west to
north-northwest in the lower flow units (HU3 to HU6)
• A slight presents of free petroleum product was detected in one well within the former UST
area (MW-2)
• During the quarter the highest concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons detected at the site
were present in the ground water samples collected from wells screened in HUl and HU2
at the east edge of the UST area The high concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbon
compounds were detected in the sample from well MW-1
• The concentrations of TPH-g appeared to decreased overall, except in the sample from well
MW-1 Also the concentrations of BTEX compounds and MTBE decreased or remained
essentially unchanged, except in the monitoring well near extraction which indicted an
increase in BTEX compounds and MTBE concentrations
• TPH-g and BTEX compounds were not detected in well MW-8 relative to the previous
quarters
• TAME and 1,2-DCA were detected in samples from the former UST area, and down-gradient
of the UST area (MW-4)
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
