i <br /> 15 April 2004 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 99-0559 <br /> Page 9 of 13 <br /> Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory, for analysis The influent samples were <br /> analyzed for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) by EPA Method 8015 <br /> Modified, <br /> • Volatile aromatic compounds(VOCs),including benzene,toluene,ethyl benzene and xylene <br /> (BTEX) with methyl-tertiary butyl ether (MTBE)by EPA Methods 8260, <br /> In addition, the effluent sample was analyzed for TPH-d by EPA method 8015 Modified <br /> A grab ground water sample was collected on 20 May 2003 from the effluent sampling port of the <br /> treatment system, the sample was transferred into VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric <br /> acid as a preservative and 500-milliliter plastic bottles without preservative The water-sample <br /> containers were labeled with the sample designation, date, time, and sampler's initials, logged on <br /> a chain-of-custody form, placed in a chilled container and transported to MAI for analysis The <br /> effluent samples were analyzed for <br /> • Volatile and Semi-volatile compounds (VOC and SVOC) by EPA Methods 624/625, <br /> • Metals Cd, Cr, Cu, Pb, Ni and Zn in accordance with EPA Method 200 Modified and <br /> • pH in accordance with EPA Method 150 1 <br /> 3 32 Influent and Effluent Monthly Monitoring Procedures <br /> In order to quantify the mass of contamination from each extraction well and to comply with the <br /> requirements of the City of Stockton discharge permit,monthly monitoring and sampling of influent <br /> and effluent ground water samples was performed on 09 June (influent samples only), 16 June, <br /> 21 July, 18 August, 29 September, 17 October(no EW-1 influent sample), 17 November(no EW-1 <br /> influent sample) and 18 December 2003 (composite influent sample only) The samples were <br /> collected in laboratory-supplied 40-m1 EPA-approved volatile VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% <br /> hydrochloric acid as a preservative, 1-liter amber bottles without preservative and 500-milliliter <br /> plastic bottles without preservative, and then labeled with the sample designation, date, time, and <br /> sampler's initials The samples were subsequently logged on a chain-of-custody form, placed in a <br /> chilled container and transported to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories,Inc (CTEL)for analysis <br /> Influent ground water samples were analyzed for <br /> • TPH-g by EPA Method 8015 Modified and <br /> • BTEX and MTBE by EPA Method 8021B or EPA Method 8260B <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmenla3,Inc <br />
