i
15 April 2004
AGE-NC Project No 99-0559
Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory, for analysis The influent samples were
analyzed for
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) by EPA Method 8015
Modified,
• Volatile aromatic compounds(VOCs),including benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylene
(BTEX) with methyl-tertiary butyl ether (MTBE)by EPA Methods 8260,
In addition, the effluent sample was analyzed for TPH-d by EPA method 8015 Modified
A grab ground water sample was collected on 20 May 2003 from the effluent sampling port of the
treatment system, the sample was transferred into VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric
acid as a preservative and 500-milliliter plastic bottles without preservative The water-sample
containers were labeled with the sample designation, date, time, and sampler's initials, logged on
a chain-of-custody form, placed in a chilled container and transported to MAI for analysis The
effluent samples were analyzed for
• Volatile and Semi-volatile compounds (VOC and SVOC) by EPA Methods 624/625,
• Metals Cd, Cr, Cu, Pb, Ni and Zn in accordance with EPA Method 200 Modified and
• pH in accordance with EPA Method 150 1
3 32 Influent and Effluent Monthly Monitoring Procedures
In order to quantify the mass of contamination from each extraction well and to comply with the
requirements of the City of Stockton discharge permit, monthly monitoring and sampling of influent
and effluent ground water samples was performed on 09 June (influent samples only), 16 June,
21 July, 18 August, 29 September, 17 October(no EW-1 influent sample), 17 November(no EW-1
influent sample) and 18 December 2003 (composite influent sample only) The samples were
collected in laboratory-supplied 40-m1 EPA-approved volatile VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18%
hydrochloric acid as a preservative, 1-liter amber bottles without preservative and 500-milliliter
plastic bottles without preservative, and then labeled with the sample designation, date, time, and
sampler's initials The samples were subsequently logged on a chain-of-custody form, placed in a
chilled container and transported to Cal Tech Environmental Laboratories,Inc (CTEL)for analysis
Influent ground water samples were analyzed for
• TPH-g by EPA Method 8015 Modified and
• BTEX and MTBE by EPA Method 8021B or EPA Method 8260B
Advanced GeoEnvironmenla3,Inc
