U-Haul (work plan approval letter) page 2
2701 N. Wilson Way, Stockton.
COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS (continued)
• Additional groundwater monitoring wells (`nested' or `clustered') are
needed on line from existing MW-4 south to MW-7, on northwest side of
Wilson Way (closest to site). Both the "B" and "C" intervals, and
possibly an "A" interval well are needed to define the petroleum
contamination in this area and,
• Analyze selected samples for methanol (EPA 8015m), ethanol, and 1,2-
DCA (EPA 8260B). Soil analyses for EDB and Lead, as well as some of
the Oxygenates, may be needed to support delineation conclusions in
pending CAP. Quarterly groundwater monitoring should include these
analytes to support plume (groundwater) delineation conclusions.
REASONS FOR DISAPPROVAL OF THE WORK PLAN [H&S 25299.37,
subd(c)(3)]:
• Not `disapproved', but proposal needs addendum prior to full approval.
DATED: December 4, 2001.
Michael Infurn , Senig E H S (209) 468-3454
Faxed to consultant [X] /2-7-61
