The Report covers the groundwater monitoring
and sampling event conducted during November 2010 and the status of the current air
sparge/soil vapor extraction remedial activities during the fourth quarter, 2010.
Included in the Report were recommendations to modify monitoring well sampling
frequencies and laboratory analyses for some of the monitoring wells. The EHD has
reviewed the modification request and the historical data collected from the monitoring
wells associated with this site and has concluded that additional modifications are
warranted.
Not mentioned in the well sampling frequency request were monitoring wells MW-213,
MW-513, MW-613, and MW-913 which have contained detectable amounts of total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel
(TPHd), methyl tertiary butyl ether (MtBE), and 1,2-dichloroethane (DCA), and benzene in
the past. The EHD requires that these four wells be included in the semi-annual sampling
events.
The groundwater samples collected from these wells are to be analyzed for benzene,
toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX), as well as the above-noted constituents and
the volatile organic compounds (VOC) and ethylene dibromide (EDB) as requested in the
Report. Additionally, the EHD requires that the sampling frequency of monitoring wells
MW-11, MW-12, and MW-13 be reduced to once every two years (biennially) and
monitoring well MW-8 be sampled once a year (annually).
The EHD approves the recommendations included in the Report with the above-noted
mndifinatinns
