Blaes Envaaonmental Management Inc U-haul-4709 50 <br /> 002-70950-04 2"'Qtr 2003 Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> 6127103 <br /> 3 0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING PROGRAM <br /> The groundwater monitoring program discussed below includes one monitoring event conducted in May <br /> 2003 At the request of SJCEHD, this groundwater monitoring event was coordinated with Ground Zero <br /> Analysis (GZA), the consultant for the Former Harry's Auto Mart site located southeast of the U-Haul <br /> facility The measurement and sampling methods employed throughout the groundwater monitoring <br /> event are discussed in the following sections <br /> 3 1 GROUNDWATER MEASUREMENTS —MAY 2003 <br /> On May 5, 2003, Blaes Environmental measured the depth to groundwater in 22 of the 29 groundwater <br /> monitor well casings associated with the site The "A" casings did not contain water and thus were not <br /> measured Groundwater levels in the "B" and "C" well casings were measured from a surveyed point on <br /> the top of the monitoring well casing to the groundwater surface All water levels were measured to the <br /> nearest hundredth of a foot(0 01 ft)using a Heron electronic water-level sounder The water level depth <br /> and time of measurement were recorded on a standard field data sheet The field data sheets for this <br /> r monitoring event are included in Appendix A and tabulated with previous monitoring data in Table 2 <br /> Groundwater depth measurements were performed in accordance with Blaes Environmental groundwater <br /> monitoring procedures presented in Appendix B <br /> r <br /> Groundwater depths recorded on May 5, 2003, ranged from approximately 49 14 feet below top of casing <br /> (btoc) in well MW-7C to approximately 52 15 feet btoc in well MW-6C Groundwater elevations ranged <br /> from approximately 31 24 feet below mean sea level in wells MW-8C to approximately 31 54 feet below <br /> 1 mean sea level in well MW-5C (Table 2) Monitor well MW-3B contained approximately 0 16 feet of <br /> free-phase hydrocarbons and was therefore not sampled during this sampling event Other observations <br /> collected during groundwater monitoring activities are presented on the field data sheet included in <br /> Appendix A <br />• 6 <br />
