BlaeS EnmonnienlalManagement Inc U-Hault1709 SO <br /> 002-70950-03 <br /> Work Plan <br /> 11/8/01 <br /> 3 0 PLANNED ADDITIONAL GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION <br /> Additional groundwater investigation will involve the installation of three new monitor wells and <br /> continuation of the groundwater monitoring program The purpose of the additional groundwater <br /> investigation is to better define the lateral extent of hydrocarbons in groundwater at and near the site The <br /> proposed activities associated with groundwater investigation activities are presented below <br /> 3 1 GROUNDWATER MONITOR WELL INSTALLATION <br /> Blaes Environmental proposes to install three additional groundwater monitor wells at the site to further <br /> define the lateral extent of hydrocarbons in groundwater The three new monitor wells will include one on- <br /> site and two off-site wells The two off-site wells are proposed for locations on neighboring properties <br /> and will require access to private property The on-site well is proposed for the southern portion of the <br /> site The proposed well locations are shown on Figure 11 <br /> 3 1 1 Project Coordination/Planning and Mana ement <br /> Project coordination, planning and management will include health and safety plan preparation, project <br /> planning, off-site access agreement coordination, and notification of interested parties Prior to <br /> conducting monitor well installation activities, Blaes Environmental will prepare a site specific Health <br /> and Safety Plan (HASP)which will be on site during field activities <br /> Prior to initiating well installation procedures, Blaes Environmental will coordinate and plan the field <br /> activities Blaes Environmental will conduct a site visit and research existing background data and as- <br /> built plans to determine existing site conditions and property boundaries This data will be used to help <br /> determine well placement, generate future system installation design plans and drawings, and avoid well <br /> installation positioning problems which may arise due to existing utilities and/or surface or subsurface <br /> structures <br /> In addition, Blaes Environmental will seek access to neighboring properties for the installation of two off- <br /> site monitor wells This will involve notification of the property owners and arranging access agreements <br /> between the property owners and Amerco/U-Haul This process can sometimes be slow and depends <br /> 9 <br />
