Blass Environmental Management Inc U-Haul#709-50 <br /> 002-70950-03 Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> 10/22/01 <br /> • 32 1 Groundwater_Sample Collection—September 2001 <br /> Following purging, groundwater samples were collected from the on-site groundwater wells using a new <br /> polyethylene disposable bailer Prior to sample collection, the depth to groundwater was measured to <br /> confirm that the groundwater level had recovered to within 90% of its original level The water level <br /> measurements, sample name, time, and sample containers were recorded on a sample data sheet included <br /> in Appendix A In addition to the groundwater samples collected from the on-site monitor wells, a <br /> duplicate sample (MW-6D)was collected from monitor well MW-6 Details of the groundwater sampling <br /> procedures are included in Appendix B <br /> Sample MW-61) was collected from well MW-6 in a slightly different manner than sample MW-6 The <br /> difference involved lowering the sample bailer to the bottom of the well before retrieving the sample <br /> The lower third of the retrieved bailer contained cloudy water <br /> Groundwater samples collected from the site were contained in appropriate sample bottles supplied by <br /> Del Mar Following collection, the groundwater samples were placed in an iced cooler and transported, <br /> under proper chain-of-custody record, to Del Mar for analysis <br /> • 3 2 2 Groundwater Sample Analysis— September 2001 <br /> The groundwater samples collected in the September 2001 groundwater monitoring event were analyzed <br /> for total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) and TPHg using EPA Method 801513, and benzene, <br /> toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX), methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), tert-Butyl Alcohol (TBA), <br /> Dl-isopropyl Ether (DIPE), Ethyl tert-Butyl Ether (ETBE), and tert-Amyl Methyl Ether (TAME) <br /> according to EPA Method 8260B <br /> 3 3 GROUNDWATER ANALYTICAL RESULTS — SEPTEMBER 2001 <br /> Laboratory analytical results of the September 2001 groundwater sampling event, which included two <br /> sample groups (the middle "B" casing and lower "C" casing samples), revealed substantial variation <br /> between sample groups A summary of analytical results for the September 2001 sampling event is <br /> presented in Table 2 A copy of the corresponding laboratory analytical report and chain-of custody <br /> documentation is provided in Appendix C <br /> 8 <br />
