L5-Haul#709-50 81aes Environmental <br /> Additional Site Characterization <br /> 3) Determine existing groundwater conditions beneath the site using the new groundwater monitoring <br /> wells, and <br /> 4) Re-establish a quarterly groundwater-monitonng program following installation of the new groundwater <br /> monitoring wells <br />' 1 3 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The additional site characterization program involved eight tasks including 1) direct-push/cone- <br /> penetrometer sampling of up to six soil bonngs to maximum depth of 126 feet bgs, 2) laboratory analysis of <br /> soil samples collected from the soil borings to determine vertical and lateral extent of hydrocarbons in soil <br /> beneath the site, 3) installation of eight additional groundwater monitonng wells (six of which were installed <br /> adjacent to existing wells with screen intervals below the current groundwater level), 4)development of the <br /> newly installed monitoring wells, 5) Collection of groundwater samples from the new wells, 6)management <br /> of soil and water waste generated during well installation and groundwater sampling activities, 7) laboratory <br /> analysis of collected groundwater samples, and 8) preparation of a report detailing the findings of the <br /> program <br /> 14 PROJECT TEAM <br /> The project team consisted of Blaes Environmental of Phoenix, Anzona, Precision Drilling of Richmond, <br /> California, Gregg Drilling, Inc of Signal Hill, California, Kiff Analytical, Inc of Davis, California and <br /> Columbia Analytical Services, Inc (CAS) of Santa Clara, California Blaes Environmental coordinated <br /> and managed the project, performed field measurements, collected, sealed and arranged for proper <br />' transport of the soil and groundwater samples to the analytical laboratory, and prepared this report <br /> Precision Drilling, Inc provided a portion of the direct-push soil sampling Gregg Drilling Inc provided <br /> a cone-penetrometer ng to collect soil samples at desired depths and a hollow-stem-auger drilling ng for <br /> ' additional drilling, soil sampling, and well installation Kiff Analytical provided laboratory analysis of <br /> soil samples collected at the site CAS provided laboratory analysis of groundwater samples collected at <br /> ' the site <br /> 2 <br />
