1
Three ground-water wells are located within a 2 , 000 foot radius of
the subject site (Figure 5) . The well owners, locations, date
' drilled and their usages are listed as follows:
Location: Sanguinetti Lane and Mistletoe Ave
Owner: California Water Service
' Date Drilled: 1956
Use: Water Well
' Location: 2336 Robbindale
Owner: J. B. Court
Date Drilled: No Date
Use: Water Well
Location: 2605 N. Wilson Way
Owner: Alfred Mayer
Date Drilled: 1966
Use: Water Well
' PROCEDURES
To determine both the extent of the ground-water and the soil
' contaminant plumes five borings were advanced in the subject site
between 18 and 21 May 1993 . Three of these borings were completed
as 211 diameter monitoring wells. The borings were advanced with
6. 75-inch diameter hollow-stem augers and a truck mounted drill
rig.
Borings B4 , B5, and B6 were drilled to a depth of 90 feet. Borings
' B6 and B8 were drilled to a depth of 70 feet. Soil samples were
obtained at five foot increments in each boring (Boring Logs) .
Discrete, relatively undisturbed soil samples were obtained from
ahead of the hollow-stem auger drill bit utilizing a split tube
sampler loaded with four pre-cleaned 2 .5 by 6 inch brass tubes.
' Upon retrieval of the sampler the ends of the middle brass tube
were immediately covered with teflon tape, capped, and sealed with
duct tape. The samples were labeled and then placed in a container
chilled with dry ice for transport to the laboratory.
The soil samples from borings B4 and B5 were shipped, with chain of
custodies, to Applied Consultants Santa Ana office, VIA Greyhound
' Bus Lines. Soil samples from B6, B7, and B8 were transported to
Applied Consultants San Diego office, VIA Applied Consultants
personnel, and then to laboratory. The soil samples remained frozen
' with dry ice until reaching the laboratory.
U-HAUL 12701 N WMSON WAY
W&93-M!U-HAUL QM4 (SD5020 2)
14 JUNE 1993 3
