' Blaes Environmental Management Inc U-Haul#709-50 <br /> 002-70950 04 Groundwater Momtonng Report <br /> 5/30/03 <br /> The work plan proposed the installation of three new monitoring wells to further evaluate the extent of <br /> • <br /> hydrocarbons in <br /> ' y groundwater to the east, west, and south of the site <br /> ' Two remedial test wells (one air sparge, and one nested vapor extraction well) were installed near the <br /> westernmost former dispenser island Following the installation of the additional wells, remedial <br /> feasibility studies were conducted that included a vapor extraction and air sparge test, an aquifer pump <br /> test, and a biofeasibility analysis of the soil and groundwater The results of the remedial feasibility <br /> studies are to be presented in a separate remedial test report <br /> 14 PROGRAM OBJECTIVES <br /> 1 The objective of the quarterly groundwater monitoring program is to provide additional monitoring data <br /> to further evaluate groundwater conditions beneath the site <br /> 1 5 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The current quarterly monitoring event was conducted in March 2003 The monitoring event involved <br /> the following tasks 1) collecting field measurements of groundwater conditions from all of the well <br /> casings in each of the well locations, 2) purging monitoring wells prior to collecting groundwater <br /> samples, 3) storing and profiling purged groundwater for disposal/treatment, 4) analyzing groundwater <br /> samples, and 5)the preparation of this report <br /> ' 16 PROJECT TEAM <br /> The project team consisted of Blaes Environmental of Phoenix, Arizona, and Del Mar Analytical, Inc <br /> (Del Mar), a California State certified analytical laboratory located in Irvine, California Blaes <br /> Environmental coordinated and managed the project, performed field measurements, collected, sealed <br /> and arranged for proper transport of the groundwater samples to the analytical laboratory, and prepared <br /> i ' this report Del Mar provided sample containers and laboratory analysis of groundwater samples <br /> collected at the site <br /> I <br /> 2 <br />
