Blaes Environmental Management Inc U-Haul4709-50 <br /> 002-70950-04 Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> 5130103 <br /> Wells at the site are now screened across three depth intervals These depth intervals include the"lower" <br /> (C) well casings, screened at depths ranging from approximately 60 to 100 feet below ground surface <br /> (bgs), the "middle" (B) well casings, screened at depths ranging from approximately 45 to 77 feet bgs, <br /> and the "upper" (A) well casings, screened at depths ranging from approximately 23 to 62 feet bgs <br /> ' These screened intervals accommodate fluctuations in groundwater depth that have ranged from <br /> approximately 45 to 90 feet bgs since 1993 (SOTA, 1997) Monitor well construction information is <br /> summarized in Table 1 On April 8 - 10, 2002,Blaes Environmental installed three new wells at the site <br /> These wells included two remedial test wells (ASW-1 and VIEW-1/2) and a groundwater monitoring <br /> ' well (MW-10) (Figure 2) The well construction diagrams for these wells were presented in the Second <br /> Quarter 2002 Groundwater Monitoring Program Report,prepared by Blaes Environmental and submitted <br /> to U-Haul International and the SJCEHD on September 30, 2002 <br /> 2 4 NEW WELLS <br /> I Blaes Environmental installed two additional groundwater monitor wells (MW-11 and MW-12) on <br /> March 17 and 18, 2003 These wells are located to the east and west of the site (Figure 2), and were <br /> installed at the request of the SJCEHD to better evaluate the extent of hydrocarbon contamination <br /> IMonitor wells MW-11 and MW-12 each include two casings screened according to the "B" and "C" <br /> horizons as described in Section 2 3 of this report Well construction diagrams are included as Figures 9 <br /> and 10 <br /> ' 2 5 FRONTIER MOTEL <br /> ' Michael Info na of the SJCEHD was on-site during the well installation activities on March 17 and 18, <br /> 2003 While drilling monitor well MW-11, Mr Inftuna noticed a domestic groundwater well located at <br /> the Frontier Motel adjacent to the U-Haul property, at 2639 N Wilson Way Mr Infurna requested that <br /> ' Blaes Environmental collect samples from the motel's domestic well as part of the upcoming <br /> groundwater monitoring event The analytical results of the sample collected from the domestic well are <br /> Iincluded in Table 3 <br /> 4 <br /> I <br />
