%K4 ` o
13 December 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 02-0926
• RCRA metals by EPA Methods 6010C, SW7010 and SW747113.
FINDINGS
Field observations did not detect the presence of volatile organic compounds (utilizing the OVM)
above background levels, or petroleum hydrocarbon-like odor in the soil samples collected.
A total of three soil samples were submitted to MAI for analysis as noted above. Barium and
chromium, were detected in soil samples collected from borings B1, B2 and B3 at maximum
concentrations of 120 milligrams per kilogram(mg/kg)(132-10)and 27 mg/kg(B 1-10),respectively.
Lead was detected in soil samples collected from borings B1 and B2 at a maximum concentration
of 6.7 mg/kg(B1-10). Arsenic was detected in soil samples collected from borings B1 and B3 at a
maximum concentration of 3.4 mg/kg (B3-10).
No other target analytes were detected at or above laboratory detection levels in the analyzed soil
samples. The analytical results are summarized in Tables 1 and 2. Copies of the laboratory reports
(MAI Laboratory ID No.0210339),quality assurance and quality control(QA/QC)report and chain-
of-custody forms are included in Appendix A.
CONCLUSIONS
Petroleum hydrocarbons and volatile organic compounds were not detected in any of the samples
analyzed. The concentrations of metals detected by EPA Methods 6010C, SW7010 and SW7471B
were within background concentrations for California soils and are below the total threshold limit
concentrations for hazardous materials.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon the findings and conclusions in this report,AGE recommends that no further action be
taken at the site with respect to the on-site sumps.
LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities.
