Box 2009 Date s/r4/F 9 by
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Revised Addendum to Site Contamination Work Plant
Electro Delta
821 S. Wilson Way
Stockton,CA
Dear Ms. Oz:
Thank you for today's telephone call in response to my letter of May 5. Based on today's
discussion, we would like to make the following modifications to the work plan than we
submitted on February 19.
1)A field survey and files review of nearby properties to identify domestic wells and similar
potential receptors will be performed in conjunction with the next drilling investigation, if
groundwater contamination is detected during drilling. When the drilling investigation is
complete, we will prepare a Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report (PIER), and
the receptor survey will be included in that report.
2) Upgradient will contact the present and previous owners of the property to locate a set of
blueprints or other site maps that depict the configuration of the subsurface drain system in
the parking lot. If we are unable to locate any information on these drains, it rr.ay be
necessary to implement your suggestion to use tracer dies to track the flow of water in this
system. We will show whatever information we can find on the site plan in the PIER.
3) The information you have provided regarding the direction of groundwater flow in the
general vicinity makes it necessary to revise the proposed locations for some of the borings.
If the prevailing flow direction is to the southeast, the previously proposed locations, all of
which are on the site property, are not well suited to determining whether contamination
extends off site to the southeast. Accordingly, we have revised the site map to show one
boring and one well in the sidewalk along the frontage road to Wilson Way. This requires
some minor adjustments in the locations of other borings: ED-5 has been moved inside the
garage building, ED-3 and ED-4 have been rotated clockwise to take the place of ED-2, and
well ED-7 has been moved closer to the UST excavation. We will advise our clients that
drilling in the sidewalk will make it necessary to obtain Encroachment and Revocable
permits from the City of Stockton, which will add some additional costs to the project and
could postpone it for up to a few weeks.
9
Stockton: P.O.
