Additional <br /> investigation in this area is not being requested of you at this time. <br /> The objective of conducting remedial action at this site is to reduce the <br /> hydrocarbon mass in the soil and groundwater to a point where a reasonable <br /> demonstration can be made that the remaining soil and groundwater plumes are <br /> stable or, preferably, declining in concentration and scope. The Corrective <br /> Action Plan (CAP) indicates soil vapor extraction technology to be the most cost <br /> effective, feasible approach to reduce the soil contamination found at the site. <br /> The CAP also indicates that in-situ air sparging technology will increase the rate <br /> of hydrocarbon reduction from groundwater at the site, when applied <br /> concurrently with soil vapor extraction.
