PDX 125642; PDX 154737 <br /> Dear Ms. Kaika: <br /> You have requested that the insured, Top Filling Station ("TFS"), provide you <br /> with specified information as outlined in your correspondence of March 12, 1996. <br /> TFS has compiled the requested information, and included an exhibit list of transmitted <br /> documents. Per your instructions, the exhibits have been picked up from our offices <br /> by Don Olsen of Peter Corrick & Associates. Your focused inquiries are being <br /> addressed in this correspondence in the order in which they were presented. In <br /> anticipation of additional comments and inquiries Royal Insurance ("Royal") may have, <br /> I have interjected discussions on related topics. <br /> Status of emediation <br /> Investigation of soil contamination commenced in December, 1994 and <br /> continued in January, 1995. The January, 1995 investigation included the installation <br /> of groundwater monitoring wells. Hydrocarbon impacted soil and groundwater were <br /> detected in samples from soil borings and each monitoring well. Analytical results of <br /> the soil and water samples are set forth in several of the enclosed documents, including <br /> the March 20, 1996 Corrective Action Plan prepared by Advanced GeoEnvironmental, <br /> Inc.
