Therefore, the report
recommends the installation of additional soil borings to further investigate the lateral
extent of the soil plume and two monitoring wells to further characterize the lateral
extent of the groundwater plume.
The report does not state locations for the recommended soil borings. However, all
areas not yet characterized must be included in the next phase of field work.
The areas recommended for the installation of the additional groundwater monitoring
points appear to be adequate but a monitoring point is also needed to the south of
monitoring well MW#2. This well should also be installed during this next phase of
field work.
As the characterization of the contaminant plumes should be complete after the
conclusion of the next phase of field work, feasibility studies must be conducted
concurrently with this site work so as to proceed to remediation in a timely manner.
Therefore, any test wells to be used for these feasibility tests should be installed
during this next phase of field work as well.
Please submit a very brief workplan detailing the locations and construction
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
