' 11 March 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0130
' 3.3. GROUND WATER AQUIFER PUMPING TEST
' Following installation of EW-1,a 24-hour aquifer pumping test will be performed within HUI
to evaluate a general radius of influence and capture zone during ground water extraction. The
ground water aquifer pumping test will be designed to obtain general aquifer characteristics
t such as hydraulic conductivity, storativity, transmissivity and draw-down at a constant pumping
rate. Procedures for the pumping test is presented in Section 4.4.
3.4. SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION PILOT TEST
' Following installation of well VW-4, an eight-hour SVE pilot study will be performed to
evaluate SVE as a remedial alternative; the results of the SVE pilot test will provide data to
calculate an effective SVE radius of influence for design of a SVE remediation system.
' Procedures for the SVE pilot test are presented in Section 4.5.
• 3.5. AIR SPARGING PILOT TEST
Following installation of well AW-1, a 48-hour IAS pilot study will be performed to evaluate
IAS as a remedial alternative;the results of the IAS pilot test will provide data to calculate an
effective IAS radius of influence and determine feasibility of IAS as a remediation alternative.
Procedures for the IAS pilot test are presented in.Section 4.6.
r
3.6. AIR SPARGING/SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION PILOT TEST
Immediately following the 48-hour IAS pilot study, an eight-hour combined SVE/IAS pilot
' study will be performed to evaluate general SVE effectiveness during IAS activities;the results
of the SVE pilot test will provide data to calculate an effective SVE radius of influence for
design of a SVE remediation system and determine feasibility of IAS as a remediation
alternative. Procedures for the SVE/IAS pilot test are presented in Section 4.7.
' 3.7. REPORT PREPARATION
Results of the well installations, ground water aquifer pumping test and SVE pilot study will
' be presented in a Problem Assessment Report (PAR). If appropriate, interim ground water
remediation may be proposed, pending the completion of a Remedial Action Plan(RAP). The
PAR and RAP will be in a format acceptable to the RWQCB(Appendix A guidelines),and will
tbe reviewed and signed by a California Registered Geologist.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
